Tutoring Golf Accessories To Improve Your Form

Besides hiring a personal trainer to help you become better at golf, there are few other ways that you can get advice on your form and technique. However, with the increasingly amazing technology of this era, you will be able to find products that contribute much more towards helping you achieve great golfing capabilities and technique to your full potential. Here are a few of the most popular items designed with this intent. As you read through, you may find out about something you didn?t previously know about, and you may have your fancy tickled by the thought of being able to use it. If this is the case, then you should embrace your motivation and track down the product in question. The possible benefits are endless.

Many experts use golf club weights which they simply attach to the end of their clubs. They make slow swings just like they normally would, and they repeat the action over and over. This repetition with the added weight resistance allows the golfer?s muscles to grow at huge rates. All of the muscles required to make powerful swings are built up even stronger than they would be after a normal game of golf. This is how professional golfers are able to use the lighter golf clubs and still make powerful shots that will go hundreds and hundreds of yards accurately.

Another way to get better at golfing is to have some sort of putting green equivalent set up someplace that you can access it every day. Use the same putter and the same golf balls that you would regularly use, and set up the situation like it would be at the end of a game. Practice getting it into the hole over and over, so that your putting skills progress and you are able to get it almost every time whenever you get towards the end. This is a valuable skill to have, and will keep quite a few points off of your score while everyone else is racking up unnecessary points by missing the hole.

Instructional videos will always help you to improve your technique. If you can watch people who are trained to make the motions perfectly without any flaw, you will have much more luck in your efforts to emulate them. You can find instructional DVDs in almost any golf store, or you can simply find free movie clips to download from the internet if you are feeling up to it. They will give all of the tips and tricks you could ask for, so be prepared to stand in front of the TV with your club as you learn about how all of the pros situate themselves in preparation for a swing.

If you are not very good at golf, there is no reason to stay that way. Using some of the accessories and tools that I mentioned, you can improve your physical ability as well as your knowledge about how you should handle the clubs. With enough determination and application of what you learn, you can start to immediately notice your games being played better. So get started today, and look for some of the things that can help you. You will be glad that you spend the money and time to do so.

Why Taking A Golf Training System Isn’t Always The Answer – Part 2?

Now, the best and last 2 simple & proven ways to improve your golf on the course. Finding out your “physical and mental limitations” is the first step towards a lifelong better game of golf. Once you find out what is keeping you (which is quite easy) from making that perfect swing, you can set up a game plan to improve it.

It may be a flexibility or a matter of adjustment or changes and even mental issues, or it may be a strength issue. But either way, you have got to find out what it is. Even veteran golfers are not spared from this. Is golf training program really works?

The most common issue (especially for the older golfer) is flexibility. Not being able to rotate your body fully on the backswing (this may even injure your back or spine) , creating that power and torque for maximum clubhead speed.

If your back swing is cut short, you may even LOSE yards on your drives! And I say again; no amount of lessons or hitting balls will make that any better. You have got to do specific golf stretches to improve this limitation.

Now on the other side of these limiting factors is strength, specific to golf. And one of the most common limitations is weak the back of the upper leg. The role of this is critical.

It allows you to maintain your golf posture throughout the swing and for 18 holes. It prevents undo strain on your lower back. And can give you a steady, comfortable position while putting.

If your hamstrings are weak, I can almost say with certainty, you have got some low-back pain or injury. This is prevalent in older golfers and even the younger ones too.

Back pain is the number reason to keep a golfer from playing his or her best. Have you ever walked off the course with your back in pain? I am sure at one time or another you have.

You cannot just enjoy this game of golf, if your hamstring is weak. So, is there a solution for this without injuring your back and up your golf level.

Now do you think hitting more balls or taking more lessons will improve this? I think you know the answer.

If you have a difficult time, “staying in your swing”, it most definitely could be your posture. In order to maintain the forward flex in your upper body (golf posture), your hamstring need to have optimal strength (and flexibility).

If not, your hamstring will send a message to your brain saying, “get out of this position, I cannot hold it any longer”. Do you think his has ever happened to you? Your mind will not obey you and starts to do some movements that you cannot simply control.

So working on the physical side of your game improvement may be the missing link. I can assuredly tell you with this approach, your game WILL improve.

I guess it is doing some stretching exercises before the golf and of course go to a medical professionals to certify that you are fit to “twist and turn” your lowerback. You do not want to injure during the game and even lose to your golf partners, do you?

There is no doubt. Getting your body to move just a little better will make a huge difference in your ability to make an optimal swing for 18 holes. So before you take that next golf lesson, take a look at your BODY first!

The Diary of a Golfer

No doubt there are high hopes heading out to that first tee. You feel strong; you can see that ball exploding off the club. That feeling of raw power as the ball soars through the air; that swing so smooth and powerful; your head definitely in the game.

And then for some reason after taking a smooth practice swing and still feeling on top of the world, you address the ball, a little doubt creeps in. You start that back swing with a little sway in the body and before you know it you have over-swung just a bit. Then as you start your downswing your hips shift slightly causing your hands to get too far ahead of the club so that at impact you are coming from outside in cutting at the ball causing a severe slice to the right and the round begins.

From the heavy rough you try to make the miraculous shot only to find yourself advancing about 100 yards with a 4 metal and no better of a lie. By the time you reach the green you have visited the sand and are now putting from 25 feet for bogey with a slight breeze in the brilliant sun but you might as well be playing in the rain – you see nothing but two putts.

You reach the second tee, you are now the last one to tee off and the smoke is billowing. Smack! This time the ball takes an abrupt turn to the left, heading toward the trees, ricocheting off the tall branches and settling softly behind a beautiful Douglas Fir with no way to advance the ball. From here you play straight across the fairway, left-handed by the way, and are then hitting number 3 to this 375 yard par 4.

Finally you lift one up into the air heading directly toward the green and it looks like a beauty and the rest of your foursome yells “great shot”, “at a way partner” but suddenly it comes up short, lands in a soft spot where moisture has collected from last night’s 5-minute shower storm and the ball is plugged.

All of you look for a good 5 minutes but there is no ball to be found. Soon, reluctantly, you pull out another Titleist take your lost-ball stroke, then shank it onto the green leaving yourself another long putt but now for double-bogey – oh-oh, another two to get down. Two holes completed and you are now 5 over par.

Smoke is now coming out of your ass.

“Where’s the golf strategy, sweetheart?” Any hopes you had of “this being the day” have just vanished in the first 13 meetings of your clubface and that little white ball.

Of course we all know that this has nothing to do with you. There is obviously something wrong with the golf clubs or the ball is out of balance or they did something to the golf course. This just can’t be. You felt too good. You had this all planned out in your mind and you were told by that latest article that all you had to do was visualize the shot and that is exactly what you did.

Where is the justice??? Somebody call the sheriff and get his fat buns out here.

Golf is always full of surprises. And to many of us that is probably what makes it such a great game. But just once, wouldn’t it be nice to be hitting on all cylinders and having that ball land in just the right spot on every hole? And then have every putt break just as you had planned and end up perfectly in the middle of the hole? …probably not going to happen.

The above scenario is not so far fetched as most all golfers know. In fact, you play this game enough and you will have many of these sorts of stories of your own. Most of us have one or two every round.

But this is the very reason why golfers need to think more about “Golf Strategy”. It is too easy out there over a period of 4 to 4 ? hours for things to get out of control. And if you don’t have something written down to help you get back on track you can turn one mistake into many very quickly and that is what can drive up the score.

The written strategy does not have to be complicated at all. It is just a reminder of what you intend to do on each hole. Where do you want the ball to land? What club selection makes sense off the tee? What do you need to consider giving you the best chance at par? What do you definitely want to avoid? And what are the distances from certain landmarks so you know what to do if things don’t go quite as planned?

Most golfers try to do all of this in their heads. But when things go a stray, plans start to get abandoned. And that is not good. It is better to only have one bad hole as opposed to many if you can prevent it. And the quicker you can get your mind off of the bad shot or the missed putt the better off you will be.

The concept behind a written plan in golf is no different than a written plan in business or your personal life. It helps to solidify the plan or strategy in your mind and then keeps you on target – you have something to refer to when distractions get in your way. It is also a great tool for evaluation. You are not just remembering what you did that was good or bad but you have your plan to see how you are doing against your strategy for each hole.

In time this will pay dividends with more consistent play.

Think about it: Get that “Strategy” out of your head and onto some paper for better results.

Mastering the Golf Swing

You don’t have to understand all the ins and outs of the golf swing in order to play well, but it certainly will help.

A person usually cannot pick up a golf club for the first time and swing it with perfection.

But, the body can learn the correct way to swing a golf club.

One gotcha is to be sure to NOT lift your head to view the alignment of the club face during the back swing and/or downswing.

The best focusing points for a consistent swing are:

1) efficient golf swing mechanics and
2) the body.

By keeping your joints supple and flexible, you could help ensure the length of your golf swing and even your club head speed.

Golf Swing Mechanics and Your Body

In order to learn efficient golf swing mechanics, the golf swing has to match your body’s ability.

The ability to maintain your body in the correct “balanced” position, while going through your golf swing, requires intense neuromuscular control.

Training muscles involved in the golf swing, particularly the lower body and torso muscles, helps to hit the ball a greater distance.

The key is to play with optimal golf swing mechanics to reduce stress on your spine. If you ignore either the body or the mechanics, it would be safe to say that your golf swing and game will suffer.

It is also important to mention that the motion of a golf swing, if done incorrectly, can cause injuries in many parts of the body.

Injuries to the key muscle groups used in the golf swing can be significantly lowered by improving flexibility.

Remember Your Posture

Your posture sets the tone for an unobstructed, free-flowing and uncomplicated golf swing.

Every error in your posture magnifies itself throughout your golf swing, and nowhere is that more amplified than on the backswing.

Look at your posture.

Proper posture allows you to make the golf swing and protect your back. You should focus to physically try to stay in your golf posture until the end of your swing.

Finally, The Swing

Without question the golf swing is one of the most important aspects about the game of golf.

Timing is the key to a great swing.

The set-up is the first crucial part of golf swing timing. If your swing is off, the golf ball could fall too short or go too far.

Allow your eyes to go to the ball to begin your swing. Remember your posture and your stance.

Now the backswing. The backswing does not hit the golf ball, but this does not mean that executing a good backswing is not important.

All of the motion ties into one another. It can be hard to master, as the golf swing is not a natural motion for most people.

But practicing and focusing on key aspects will go a long way to improving your swing.

Remember your body is one of these key aspects.

A strong lower back is critical to making an effective turning motion in the golf swing. And don’t rush into it. Never try to hit a golf ball until your swing is second nature.

Now that We Have the Basics, How to Improve

Practice, practice and more practice. This doesn’t necessarily mean time spent every day, but it does mean to focus on all the key aspects each time you do practice.

Two aspects require tuning and development of you wish to improve the power in your golf swing; timing and form.

You can work on drills to improve your golf swing timing, always remembering to start with a solid setup. In regard to form, powerful abdominals will improve posture at the address and help to prevent lower-back pain associated with the golf swing.

Also, by working on your stance and finishing position, your golf swing is on its way to giving you a perfect game.

Maintaining Power

As time goes on you may be losing your ability to produce power in your golf swing.

An inefficient golf swing decreases the amount of power delivered to golf swing. Great players attest that focussing on proper body stance and a smooth, focused swing maximizes your power and develops an athletic golf swing with perfect balance.

Many things go into playing a great game of golf, none as important as having the proper golf swing and body form.

This will not just increase your ability in the game, but also your enjoyment.
